Meanwhile, Rangers are closing in on the signing of Jake Hastie from Motherwell.
The winger will become Gerrard's latest capture when he pens a pre-contract agreement later this week.
The 20-year-old will move to Ibrox in the summer along with Kilmarnock wideman Jordan Jones.
Glen Kamara also signed a pre-contract in January before joining for £50k on deadline day.
