Rangers boss Steven Gerrard reckons it's 'difficult to predict' how Kilmarnock will play on Sunday

Steven Gerrard reckons that it's "difficult to predict" how Kilmarnock will play on Sunday.

He pointed to their compact style last season which was a success, and guesses they will revert back to that come the season-opener this weekend.

He said: "Every time we played Kilmarnock last season it was a tough and competitive game.

"Under Steve Clarke they had a way of playing which was very organised and they had a lot of men behind the ball.

"They were very compact and there wasn't much space out there.

"They had the idea to try and counter-attack against you and they had some success against us.

"We will wait and see if the new manager, Angelo, does the same thing against us.

"It's difficult to predict because during pre-season they have played a different style that has been quite open.

"They have tried to play football on the floor and it hasn't really worked out for them.

"If I was to guess I would think he would go back to the style under Steve Clarke, but that's me guessing."
