Rangers boss Steven Gerrard makes Irvine lad Jackson Waddell's dream come true during surprise visit

Bluenose Jackson Waddell can't keep the grin off his face as Rangers manager Steven Gerrard presents him with a signed shirt featuring all his Ibrox heroes.

The eight-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, realised every young Gers' fans dream yesterday when he was treated to a surprise trip to the Glasgow's giants' Auchenhowie training ground before enjoying lunch back at Ibrox Stadiim.

Jackson met all his favourite players and even caught up with goalkeeper Allan McGregor for a blether.

He also got a chance to take the hot-seat in the press room during a tour of the facilities.

A heart-melting video of the moment the youngster found he was about to spend a day with the Teddy Bears was shared more than a thousand times on social media yesterday.

We reported how the visit was a year in the making after it was postponed to allow Jackson to travel 4000 miles for potentially life-changing surgery.

Jackson's mum Jacqueline said: "He had the best day. He told Stevie Gerrard he was Liverpool fan too.

"Last night, out of the blue, he said: 'I can't believe that happened.'
