Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admits side let fans down with Kilmarnock defeat

Steven Gerrard admits the performance at Kilmarnock along with the 2-1 defeat has let their fans down.

The Rangers boss was left fuming after the loss to Alex Dyer's side having led at the break.

Goals from Stephen O'Donnell and Eamonn Brophy ensured the Rugby Park men took all three points.

Gerrard said: "Look, we go to the next game. That's all we can do. I'm not in a position now [to make changes] and it's not the time to say I want to make wholesale changes.

"I've still got belief and confidence in this group of players.

"We've let ourselves down tonight in the second half. We've let our supporters down.

"But this is the same group of players who had an incredible first half to the season, so we go to the next game and I expect a reaction."

When asked if he had a message for the Gers fans, Gerrard said: "I don't think they're going to listen to that message right now because they're obviously frustrated and upset a bit like myself.

"But look, I'm someone who'll do everything can to turn our form right now and try to make as happy as I can as soon as possible."
