Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admits side couldn't cope against Kilmarnock

Steven Gerrard has admitted that his side "couldn't cope" against Kilmarnock.

Rangers fell to a late winner from Eamonn Brophy as the Light Blues threw away a 1-0 lead.

And the Ibrox boss wasn't hiding his displeasure.

He said: "We didn't play like a team that is trying to fight or remain in a title race.

"We came here tonight and it was a pressure game in a stadium where you know you are going to be under the cosh or under the heat.

"You know you are going to sustain some pressure against you.

"The reality is that we couldn’t cope tonight."

The defeat leaves Rangers 10 points behind Celtic in the title race.

Gerrard said: "The reality is, they remain in the driving seat.

"That's down to two things: their form and us not being good enough since the winter break.

"I am responsible for that, I put this group together."
