Rangers boss and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard does not understand books

BOOK

Noun: a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers.

SPORTSMAN

Noun : a man who takes part in a sport, especially as a professional.

There may be some people reading this who already understood the difference between a book and a sportsman, but apparently there are others who remain confused.

When Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was asked to recommend some cultural highlights during lockdown, one particular list stood out.

Under '5 Book Recommendations' you might be forgiven for thinking Gerrard would go with some fairly generic suggestions. A Da Vinci Code here, a Harry Potter there.

Not this Liverpool legend. Just as he did in the final minutes of the 2006 FA Cup Final, Gerrard came up with a memorable contribution from outside the box.

Number five? Pep Guardiola. Okay, that's a man and not a book, but let's hear him out. Number four? Gazza. That's the nickname of a man and, again, not a book. Still, three remain.

Number three? Peter Crouch. That's a man you know from work, not a book. Number two? Mike Tyson. That's a man who bit someone's ear when he was supposed to be doing sport. You can see the confusion, but again, not a book.

Will number one be an actual book? Or will it just be the last word from his previous recommendation plus a noun? Over to you Stevie...

"Number one - Tyson Fury".

Sound.

Gerrard made a similar mistake under '5 Music Artist Recommendations'. Instead of choosing a musician, his first choice was Ed Sheeran.
