Rangers boosted by impressive performance from former Kilmarnock duo in reserve match

Former Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones has boosted his chances for a Rangers first-team return.

He turned out for a Gers reserve side in a 4-0 win over their counterparts from English Sky Bet Championship side Brentford.

The Northern Irish winger has been ruled out of action after injuring himself in an Old Firm derby, a match he was also sent-off in.

The 25-year-old isn't included in the  Europa League squad so can't play against Young Boys on Thursday night but could return against Motherwell in the Premiership on Sunday.

Greg Stewart, who was also at Kilmarnock last season, scored in the match to help the Gers on their way.

Rangers ran out 4-0 winners thanks to an own goal, a Stewart penalty and a goal each from Rhys Breen and Dapo Mebude.
