Rangers' big win catches footie5 pundits out as Sam Quek edges head to head with Jermaine Jenas

There were the usual opening weekend surprises to the new English Premier League season.

Who saw Brighton's 3-0 win at Watford coming? Or Manchester United putting four past Frank Lampard's Chelsea ?

But footie5 ambassador Sam Quek predicted just enough to edge this weekend's head-to-head with Jermaine Jenas.

Sam is a lifelong Liverpool fan. But calling arch rivals Everton's result at Crystal Palace correct just edged it for her.

It was a low-scoring weekend.

Both pundits called Rangers to beat Hibs, but not by a five-goal margin!

Both fancied Watford to open with a win over Brighton . They didn't.

Both called Burnley to draw with Southampton . They won.

And Sheffield United's late equaliser at Bournemouth denied both the point they would have earned for calling a home win.

But Sam opted for Palace and Everton to draw and that was just enough to give her the edge on matchweek two. JJ fancied the Toffees to edge an away win, Sam suggested 1-1 - and the subsequent 0-0 draw gave her a point.

That meant she edged the weekend 3-2.

But the big six points JJ earned on the opening weekend for calling a score draw between Sunderland and Oxford means he still leads overall 11-9.

There's a big weekend of football looming, however, where anything can happen.
