Rangers badge given cheeky Italian makeover as fans spot striking lower league similarity

The Rangers FC badge design appears to have been ripped off by a team in Italian football's eighth tier.

A user on Reddit flagged the  ASD Arluno Calcio logo in a post entitled 'Arluno Calcio are an 8th tier semi-professional club playing in northern Italy. Does the badge ring any bells?!'

The club were founded in 2010, and are based in Milan.

According to their website, the club are "pursuing corporate growth through the pursuit of ethical values of sport such as: loyalty, sacrifice, respect for the opponent and social rules."

The lower league outfit have a partnership with Torino's youth team and currently sit 16th in the Second Categoria, the penultimate rung on the Italian football ladder.

The Ibrox side revealed a new crest design in July, with the image of the lion sharpened and the word "Ready" moved inside the football.

Announcing the new look, Rangers legend John Greig said: "For generations, the Ready crest has defined our ambition. An icon of excellence. To win we must keep moving forward and so we bring the next chapter."

Steven Gerrard's side maintained their place at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Ross County at Ibrox on Sunday, thanks to goals from James Tavernier and Brandon Barker.
