Conor Brennan says a touch of class from an experienced pro was the difference between East Kilbride and Rangers 'B' - but it's Kilby's determination to succeed which excites him most.
The goalkeeper made numerous outstanding saves as Chris Aitken's side battled back from 1-0 down to 2-1 victors in the crucial Lowland League battle, with 10 men too after James Stevenson was sent off for foul language.
Neil McLaughlin scored a curled effort to level things but ex-Partick Thistle star Erskine's long-range lob to win it was the game's main moment of quality.
Brennan was a key player in the contest and won Man of the Match for his eye-catching saves.
And while happy with his own performance, he reckons it was a great team display, with some added individual quality.
He said: "I am over the moon. Since day one, no matter who plays where, we are all in it as a team. To a man, I thought we were outstanding. I am happy to do my bit.
"When it went down to 10 men it was really tough. From a personal point of view it's nice to play well but to a man I thought the whole team performed really well.
"Without the boys in front of me playing so well, I don't think this result happens.
"I still don't know why he was sent off but we will handle that. I thought we actually played a wee bit better with 10 men as well. But that just shows the character within the team.

"Chris Erskine's goal is outstanding and it was taken really well. That comes down to the career he's had and the level he's played at. Maybe other players try to put it around the keeper, but Chris Erskine uses experience.
"That's why these guys are here. They've got so much to offer even at the latter stages of their career."
EK's big win over Rangers made it 11 wins from the last 12 games in all competitions for Kilby, who move into the Lowland League's top four on goal difference with the victory.
Brennan added: "We got men behind the ball and then we managed to get the goal. Rangers are a good team and you can tell they are a good team who work on things every day.
"It was up to us show our experience in this one. It's a big result for us. The unbeaten run keeps going for us with this result and we still firmly believe we can get up there and challenge.
"You might have games like this when you go down to 10 men and you are forced to dig in and get tight. That's what it's about."
