Rangers B hit last-gasp goal to deny Cumbernauld Colts

Cumbernauld Colts were denied doing the double on Rangers B in the Lowland League after the Ibrox outfit fought back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at Broadwood.

James Orr's Colts side stunned Gers last month with a thumping 4-1 win against 10-men and they came agonisingly close to repeating that feat in their latest meeting tonight.

Tony Weston had the young Gers in front at the break, but Colts turned the game on its head with two goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

First, skipper Stephen O'Neill's corner found Dominic McLaren to head home the equaliser in the 50th minute and then Shaun Brown struck to fire the hosts ahead in the 65th minute.

Their lead would only last a few minutes, with Weston getting his second of the night.

With Colts looking like they were about to hold out for an impressive draw against the league's high-flyers, Lewis MacKinnon netted to break Cumbernauld hearts in stoppage time.

The result took Gers up to second in the Lowland League, while Colts stay 15th.

Elsewhere in the Lowland League, East Kilbride ran out 4-1 winners away to Dalbeattie Star to move up to fifth in the table.

Bonnyrigg Rose lead the way on 49 points, 10 clear of Rangers B.
