Rangers away kit for 2021/22 season released by Ibrox club

Rangers have released their new away kit for the upcoming season.

The club say the strip is inspired by their "rich and proud Govan heritage" with the striking red and black colour scheme featuring on their kits since the early 1900s.

Within the shirt is the inscription, ‘Peter McNeil’, brother of Moses who was commemorated inside this season’s home shirt, and another of the club’s founding fathers and himself a sports outfitter, owning a famous shop in the centre of Glasgow.

The shirt is from Castore and is "crafted from a lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking fabric with the right amount of stretch, it provides enhanced ventilation, easy movement and ultimate comfort."

The kit has had mixed reactions from fans so far as many have taken to social media to criticise the new design.

On twitter @Ross_S25 said: "Who signed off on this abomination? In our anniversary year, with so many historical shirts to use as inspiration we choose this monstrosity."

Another fan simply said: "What a disappointment."

Rangers will debut their new outfit tomorrow (Saturday) in a pre season friendly at Ibrox.

The game kicks off at 5:30pm.
