Rangers attacker on Northampton Town's radar for signing swoop

Rangers starlet Josh McPake could be set for a move to English League Two side Northampton Town.

The 21-year-old from Coatbridge is currently at Queen's Park on a season-long loan deal, but the Ibrox side could recall him in January and send him down south.

McPake has impressed at the Spiders, with four goals this season, including in his last two games, with the winger scoring a stoppage-time goal in their 2-0 SPFL Trust Trophy win over Montrose last weekend. He also netted in a 4-0 win over Hamilton Accies at Hampden.

Northampton, who are third in League two and pushing for promotion, are believed to have had McPake watched in recent games.

McPake has had spells down south, including at Tranmere Rovers, Morecambe and Harrogate Town, so has some experience of the English lower leagues.
