Rangers are reported to be in advanced talks over signing Conor Coady from Leicester City.
Gers boss Russell Martin would like to add the centre-back to his squad on a permanent deal as he pushes to get new faces in before the two-legged Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos.
Coady’s name has been frequently linked with Rangers, who are in urgent need of defensive reinforcements, and the England cap is likely to be allowed to leave the Foxes after their relegation from the Premier League.
The Daily Record is now reporting the Ibrox side are stepping up their attempts to bring the 32-year-old north and are locked in talks with the English outfit.

Those discussions are said to have progressed to an advanced stage.
Rangers are back in pre-season and club chiefs are pushing to get a deal done quickly so Coady can join the squad as soon as possible. Martin is keen to maximise his time with the new signings ahead of the clashes against the Greeks.
New Gers sporting director Kevin Thelwell has previously signed Coady for Everton.
Rangers are reportedly close to securing a season-long loan for Bournemouth right-back Max Aarons and want to add winger Kwame Poku following his Peterborough exit.
