With the countdown on to the start of a new Scottish Premiership campaign, some Hotline callers have Aberdeen and Hibs down as the main challengers to bookies favourites Rangers.
With Celtic being written off by many callers, it was another catalogue of complaints with the lack of business being done by the Hoops.
Gordon Ferguson, Kilwinning, said: "Instead of Celtic fans commenting on the strength of the Real Madrid team in Sunday’s friendly, maybe they should be more focused on their own team. I know that’s where my focus would be with the lack of talent in the current Celtic squad. It’s definitely a two horse race for the SPL title and I’m sure Aberdeen will give Rangers a real challenge this year."
Eddie Easson, Ballingry, said: "The silence coming out of Celtic Park is deafening. They are linked with so many players and don't look any closer to signing any of them. Dominic McKay came in full of ideas. To date there is still no director of football and still no head of recruitment and a squad in dire need of players. Sadly I think there could well be rebellion again if something isn't done and fast."
Paul McCormack, Coatbridge , said: "It's a stark contrast in reporting of comings and goings at Celtic and Rangers.
"Celtic, quite rightly, are getting grief for sleeping on the job with signings, meanwhile Steven Gerrard says he 'hopes' Alfredo Morelos will return this week, he must be so tired after nine minutes of international football...
"Is the tail wagging the dog here, and why are reports on this situation so sparse?"
Craig Anderson, Glasgow, said: "I honestly believe Celtic will struggle to make any sort of challenge this season and both Aberdeen and Hibs look stronger. Unless there are massive changes in defence, we could well be struggling to get fourth or fifth spot."
Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny , said: "Rangers played with Fashion and came up with the real deal against Real Madrid.
"After watching at Celtic's shambolic display against West Ham, Rangers will win the league at a canter and go far in all competitions leaving Celtic fighting for survival."
Joe Graham, emailed: "I've no doubt who looks best prepared to start the domestic season next week.
"Rangers final game against Real Madrid was a cracker. Any eleven chosen from what was displayed in this game will take some beating. They are all raring to go. Celtic on the other hand are in deep trouble with the want always still there and the slow new recruitment. Ange Postecoglou has too much to do here to present any challenge this season. Aberdeen and Hibs look like fighting it out for second place."
Hugh Gallagher, Glasgow, said: " Hotline caller Kevin Kean's comments about Real Madrid playing an entire team of reserves made me laugh.
"Marcelo has 58 caps for Brazil, Isco and Nacho 38 and 22 caps for Spain with 12 Champions League winners medals between them, Rodrygo cost Madrid 45 million Euros, does he really believe these players can be classed as reserves?
"I'd bet any amount of money he'd take these four in a nanosecond for his team, just because his lot got a going over by a mediocre English team he's got to try to find fault with the current Scottish Premiership champions."
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: "I wonder when or why Leigh Griffiths pressed the self-destruct button. He was a good player with a good career and he seems to have blown it. Once a section of the crowd has you in It's sights it’s better to move on, or make them change their minds and Celtic supporters are a tough nut to crack."
Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, said: "It now seems inevitable that Odsonne Edouard will be moved on after the European tie and it’s imperative that a striker is brought in immediately. I’m hopeful Kevin Nisbet will be the latest Hibs forward to follow Griffiths and Anthony Stokes in moving to Celtic Park in previous years."
And finally to end on a sad note. Colin McArdle, Lanarkshire, said: "As a Celtic fan I was saddened to hear of the passing of former Rangers star Ally Dawson. My thoughts and prayers goto Ally's family at this sad time in their lives. RIP."
