Rangers announce boardroom shake-up as Three Bears director given seat at the Ibrox table

Rangers have appointed Three Bears investor George Letham to the board in a top table shake-up at Ibrox.

It was announced earlier this year that the club will move toward having fan representation after Dave King agreed to sell his shares to the Club 1872 group.

The South Africa-based businessman has a 20.37 per cent stake through his New Oasis Asset Limited, making him the biggest shareholder.

That will not go through until the group can buy out King but there has been a shake-up on the board in January.

Documents filed at Companies House on Tuesday show that Letham has been appointed to the Rangers board.

Rangers investor George Letham is described as one of the 'Three Bears' (SNS Group)

The businessman was part of the Three Bears group along with Douglas Park and George Taylor who invested in the club when King took over in 2015.

Letham holds a 4.33 per cent stake, making him the ninth biggest shareholder.

And he will now have a direct say in the running of the club after being appointed to the board alongside Park, John Bennett, Alastair Johnston, Graeme Park, Julian Wolhardt, Barry Scott and James Blair.

They will hope to oversee a title triumph for Steven Gerrard 's side this season, as well as preparing for the club's 150th anniversary in 2022.
