Rangers announce Bengaluru FC partnership as Stewart Robertson reveals plan to tap into growing Indian market

Rangers have announced the formation of a new partnership with Indian side Bengaluru FC.

A two year agreement will see a scouting link developed in Indian football, in an effort to identify the best up-and-coming talent, as well as trips to India for the Rangers academy.

There will also be training camps for the Rangers Soccer School in India, with tour groups visiting Glasgow and Ibrox .

In addition, a Rangers legend side will go to India for a friendly match and meet with fans.

Rangers Managing Director Stewart Robertson said: “We’re excited and proud to announce our partnership with reigning Indian Super League champions Bengaluru FC, especially at this time when football in India, a country of 1.3 billion people, is entering a period of unprecedented growth.

"The club’s international strategy is a core-pillar to our growth plans and this partnership opens up Rangers to the vast football community in India and provides a great platform for us to engage with our wider fanbase, and the South Asian communities at home here in Scotland ."

The club is also looking to grow its fanbase in India by showing Premiership matches live at special fan events.
