Rangers and Celtic transfer latest as Glasgow-linked duo predicted to remain in English Championship

Rangers and Celtic appear to have moved onto other targets with Preston North End boss Alex Neil suggesting interest in his players has "gone away".

Preston midfielder Daniel Johnson has been heavily linked with a switch to Ibrox in recent weeks while defender Ben Davies is reportedly a target for the Scottish champions.

However Neil says he's "very confident" both men will remain at Deepdale.

When asked about the transfer speculation, he said: "All of that has gone away, thankfully. We are hoping it continues that way.

"If you said to me right now, 'how confident am I?'

"I am very confident that none of the lads will be away."

Neil Lennon has gone on record as saying he's keen to bring in a new defender, specifically a left-sided player.

Steven Gerrard is in need of a new central midfielder and reports suggested he was keen to bring a player in before Sunday's trip to Motherwell.

Rangers and Celtic are both in Europa League action tonight, and you can follow all the latest updates throughout the evening on Glasgow Live.
