Rangers and Celtic set for High Noon shoot out as first derby day moved for TV coverage

The Old Firm are set for a Sunday High Noon shoot-out in the first derby of the season after it was pushed back 24 hours.

Champions Rangers will welcome Celtic to Ibrox on Sunday, August 29 after the match was moved for Sky Sports coverage.

It remains unclear how many fans will be allowed into Ibrox after fixtures were all played behind closed doors last season.

It will be an early taste of the famous fixture for new Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou in only the fourth weekend of the Scottish Premiership campaign.

Steven Gerrard’s men were undefeated against their rivals last season with three league wins and a Scottish Cup victory at Ibrox and just one draw at Parkhead.

Both sides face crucial Champions League qualifiers before that meeting but the game will be the chance to strike an early blow in the title race.

The Glasgow giants are live on TV on the opening day of the league campaign with Rangers welcoming Livingston to Ibrox for flag day and Celtic travelling across the M8 to Tynecastle.

The Light Blues are also in front of the TV cameras in the second game of the season with their trip to Tannadice picked for coverage on Saturday, August 7 at 12.30pm.

Sky TV cameras are back on Tayside later that month with Hibs heading to newly-promoted Dundee for the match at Dens Park on August 22, kick off 12 noon.
