Rangers and Celtic Scottish Cup ties selected for live TV coverage

Rangers and Celtic ’s Scottish Cup ties will be on the box after Premier Sports confirmed their third round picks.

The Scottish Cup will be played to a finish this season after the Scottish Government gave the go ahead for Football below the Championship to continue, meaning League One and Two teams can get their ties played.

With Rangers on the cusp of winning a first Scottish Premiership title for ten years, this represents the Hoops’ final chance of claiming silverware this season.

They’ve won the last four Scottish Cup in succession, with their latest victory coming over Hearts back in December under Neil Lennon, although they needed extra-time and spot-kicks to win it.

This time, they’ll start with either Arbroath or Falkirk in the third round at Celtic Park, with the sides still to play their second round encounter.

The winner is set for a TV payout with Premier showing the clash on the weekend of 3 April.

Rangers host League One Cove Rangers at Ibrox with their game also being selected for live coverage.

The Light Blues will be looking to complete a domestic double by then and aiming to make their first Scottish Cup final appearance since losing to Hibs back in 2016.

They were knocked out by Hearts at the quarter-final stage last season and haven’t lifted a major domestic trophy since 2011
