Rangers and Celtic points tallies predicted by supercomputer as data reveals most likely champions

A supercomputer has predicted the points tallies Celtic and Rangers will finish the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season with.

And, according to a complex algorithm, Neil Lennon's side will be celebrating a tenth consecutive league title come May.

FiveThirtyEight, a statistics website, uses all manner of data to make sporting predictions. Things such as average expected goals scored, average expected goals conceded and even transfer activity are taken into account.

As reported by the Daily Record, the computer says Celtic will finish the season in first place with a hugely impressive 96 points. Rangers will end up eight points behind on 88.

The algorithm gives Celtic a 72 per cent chance of winning the Premiership and Rangers a 27 per cent chance.

Hibs and Aberdeen will both end up on 60 points although Jack Ross' men will secure third place thanks to their better goal difference.

St Mirren are predicted to finish bottom on 36 points with St Johnsone in the relegation play-off spot.
