No fans will be in attendance and one team were crowned champions before series six of Line of Duty was even back on the box.
It doesn't sound like a Rangers against Celtic clash with much at stake but these two can still give Ted Hastings and Co a run for their money when it comes to thrills and spills.
And as our trip down memory lane this week showed - dead rubbers can still fire bullets with personal pride on the line.
Rangers are three games away from joining Celtic as the only team ever to go through a Premiership season undefeated.
Both have points to prove with Steven Gerrard 's side hell-bent on making up for yet another misstep in a domestic Cup clash as St Johnstone bundled them out of the Scottish Cup last weekend.
John Kennedy and Celtic can't help but miss chances in this fixture and that must be addressed if they are to end a run of five derbies without victory.
The big names have made their predictions and here's what they believe will happen.
Charlie Nicholas
"Gerrard will be scratching his head. His team eased to the title, but he still faces a massive job.
"His best players are defenders and the goalkeeper.
"Ryan Kent hasn't had a good season and neither has Alfredo Morelos.
"But winning the league crown helped hide many of their faults.
"Gerrard will be furious his team bombed again, leaving that lovely question mark beside them."
Alex McLeish
"There has been a big chance, a big shift, in the mental side of things at Rangers over this last year when compared with the previous two years.
"They've managed games very well and if they are under pressure with a slender lead they have seen games out. That is a fundamental.
"A guy like Steven Gerrard was probably schooled in that growing up with Liverpool. You have to focus on the rest of the games with great professionalism."
Barry Ferguson
"I’ve had people stopping me in the street asking what I think about this weekend. And I’ve told them all the same thing – these Rangers players have been a credit to themselves all season, they won’t stop now.
"The manager will have had his say after what happened on Sunday – you could hear the disappointment in his voice in his after match interview – so I’d hazard a guess he didn’t miss and hit the wall when he got them back in the dressing room.
"I’d be very surprised if he even needs to give them any kind of motivational talk ahead of this weekend because this fixture speaks for itself.
"I like to think the players will have responded all week by bursting a gut on the training pitch and trying to earn themselves a starting place against Celtic."
Chris Sutton
"They say there’s no such thing as a meaningless match between Celtic and Rangers.
"Well if that is the case, then this must be about as close as you can get to one.
"It might matter to Steven Gerrard ’s team a bit because they are trying to go through the league season unbeaten.
"Please forgive me for not being enthusiastic, but there’s absolutely nothing for Celtic to gain from stopping it.
"Anyone caught celebrating that should be led away. If anything, that tells you how bad this season has been. An utter horror story."
Alan Hutton
“You look at what still motivates Rangers, they can be break 100 points, they can be invincibles.
“There are all these little things that just put a cherry on top if you want. There’s still motivation so I’d be looking for a massive performance from the players.”
