East Kilbride boss Stevie Aitken admits he’s given up on league reconstruction and is planning for next season’s Lowland League.
A decision on whether Rangers and Celtic Colts would enter League Two was expected this month, but with the SPFL seemingly dragging their heels, Aitken is simply moving on.
If Kilby then earn promotion to the fourth tier via reconstruction, Aitken will be happy to accept that, but doesn’t now think it will happen.
He said: “I haven’t heard anything on reconstruction, we’re planning now for being back in the Lowland League, that’s what the focus is on.

"We think that’s what’s going to happen, we don’t think there’s going to be any opportunities through reconstruction.
“If it happens, it happens, but we don’t think it’s going to go through, so we’re planning for Lowland League.
“There’s still no vote, it still hasn’t gone to a vote, so until that happens you don’t know – but we’re certainly planning for playing in the Lowland League, and preparations have already started.
“We’ll be talking to players over the next week or 10 days, now that we have a few things to discuss with the club first and get them ironed out and then we’ll sit down with the players hopefully over the next week to 10 days and start to look forward to next season.”
