Rangers and Castore to meet 10 'random' fans over kit quality concerns

Rangers and kitmakers Castore have arranged a meeting with Ibrox supporters to discuss concerns surrounding the start of their partnership.

The deal for Castore to replace Hummel as Rangers kit providers was hailed when first announced and supporters snapped up more than 100k shirts in the week following their launch.

Issues surrounding delivery of the pre-ordered home shirt then started to emerge on social media with some receiving damaged tops and others not receiving them at all.

Quality concerns were then raised over their various offerings on the official Rangers website, with Castore releasing a statement to apologise for a mix-up in what was sold.

The sportswear company released both a 'replica' home top and a 'pro' shirt and they suggested that some of the latter had been sent out by mistake during the initial sale.

But now they have decided to have face-to-face meetings with some supporters as part of a focus group with fans asked to submit applications to attend the event.

It's now been confirmed on social media by the club's supporter's liaison officer explaining that 10 had been randomly selected from the applications and all had now been informed.

Around 400 applied but in a reply to a supporter questioning the number, Rangers SLO tweeted: “It’s a focus group. To confirm, 10 is a standard number for this type of supporter engagement. Any suggestion to the contrary is inaccurate.”

Social distancing measures would have also reduced availability.
