Rangers agree deal with Ayrshire golf resort

An Ayrshire golf resort has unveiled an official partnership with football giants Rangers.

Dundonald Links, which has undergone a lavish makeover, will play host to the club's annual golf day next month.

The event, set to feature a string of Ibrox heroes, will tee off an agreement seeing Rangers and its corporate partners use the facilities over the coming years.

Rangers’ commercial and marketing director James Bisgrove said: "We are thrilled to partner with Dundonald Links Golf Resort, which has established itself as one of Scotland’s most prominent golfing destinations in recent years.

"At Rangers, we strive to associate ourselves with best in class and like-minded partners, and with the incredible course and new facilities at Dundonald, we believe the partnership fulfils this ambition.

“We look forward to collaborating closely with the Dundonald Links team in the years ahead, and are excited to launch our first Annual Rangers Golf Day at the venue on October 10."

Ian Ferguson, general manager of Dundonald Links, added: "We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Rangers FC, which felt like a very natural one for Dundonald Links given how passionate we both are about our respective sports and creating legacy within them.

"We look forward to welcoming the club and their partners to Dundonald Links to enjoy some of the very best facilities in Scotland."

Dundonald Links has undergone a £25 million overhaul in recent years with a new two-storey clubhouse featuring a 200-cover restaurant and renovation of the golf course.

The course has also had a supercharged cash injection from UK holiday company Darwin Escapes to allow them to carry out the complete makeover.

The club, which staged the Scottish Women's Open in July, boasts 22 hotel rooms — individual one-room cabins — and 18 lodges.
