Rangers 12th man effect dismissed as Malmo 'not bothered' by rocking Ibrox

Malmo keeper Johan Dahlin won't be fazed by a full capacity Ibrox for Tuesday's Champions League qualifying showdown with Rangers.

Steven Gerrard's side trail the Swedish champions 2-1 after a tightly-contested first leg and must win by two clear goals to go through, or by one to force a penalty shootout.

But Malmo are a tough nut to crack and have kept four Allsvenskan clean sheets on the trot, although a weekend stalemate with Halmstads was considered a disappointing result.

Dahlin will face a packed Ibrox with the full house signs set to go up for the first time since Rangers' Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen in March last year before the pandemic locked down football.

However, the 34-year-old veteran Swedish international reckons it will be just another game for him.

He said: "It is how it is. I've been here a long time and something like this won't bother me.

"I honestly can't say I have even thought about the atmosphere. Games are like that sometimes.

"We are in a good place because we have managed to keep four clean sheets in the league in a row and I had very little to do against Halmstads.

"We had control of the game and should have won it."

Malmo captain Anders Christiansen complained at the lack of help the club had received from Swedish football chiefs after having to play on Saturday ahead of the vital game against the Scottish Premiership champions.

However, laid back Dahlin won't be joining his skipper in protesting.

He said: "I did nothing apart from stand and scream for 90 minutes. The rest of the players were running for many miles during the game.

"So the game schedule has no impact on me."
