Make way for Chitti Babu, for that is the role actor Ram Charan plays in his upcoming film Rangasthalam 1985. Set in a rural backdrop, it is an action film that would revolve around the character of Chitti Babu. He can get any machine to work, and so he introduces himself as the engineer of his village, Rangasthalam, in the teaser.
But, the man can’t hear. That’s introduced in the teaser like it is a character quirk which leads to him being addressed as Sound Engineer by people around him. But this doesn’t stop him from slapping men, or chasing people in a field. The film has a promising cast - Samantha Akkineni, Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapati Babu - but all we see is bearded Ram Charan trying to attract attention with his entertaining introduction.
From a glimpse of the film, one of the two striking details is the sharp camera work. Be it a wide angle shot that shows a village bridge, or close up of shots of Ram Charan, they look great. The second is the BGM in the teaser, it adds humour to what is otherwise a bland delivery.
The film was shot in Godavari, among other places and the lead actors have been sharing pictures from the sets of the film. This movie will also have a special song featuring actor Pooja Hegde. The music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad and the project is bankrolled by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Mohan Cherukuri under Mythri Movie Makers banner. Directed by Nannaku Prematho fame Sukumar, the film is set to release on March 30.
