A nuclear submarine was grounded by a coronavirus outbreak after randy sailors broke quarantine for nights of passion.
HMS Vengeance crew were isolating at their Faslane base on Gare Loch in Scotland.
But an officer tested positive for coronavirus days before they were due to set sail, the Daily Record reports.
Insiders say the vessel is now "riddled" with coronavirus with as many as 30 crew infected.
Unable to patrol, the sub has effectively been stranded after sailors left the base to meet their girlfriends and wives as far as 17 miles away at Vale of Leven.
A source said: “A few people are very concerned that members of the crew have been breaking the quarantine rules to get out of the base to meet their girlfriends.
“This is what is behind the outbreak – people unable to keep it in their pants.
"The Navy will say it is all contained but clearly it isn’t, especially when people just blatantly ignore the rules. The place is riddled with it."
The insider said a landing crew was given a £500 incentive to help bring the ship in recently as they were reluctant to go onboard with so many Covid cases "floating about."
Crew had been placed into quarantine for weeks and were tested before boarding the sub.
Navy chiefs now fear the virus will tear through cramped vessels, armed with Trident nuclear missiles.
A Navy spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a number of personnel at HMNB Clyde have tested positive for Covid 19 and are under medical supervision.
“Personnel identified as having been in contact with those who have tested positive are self-isolating in line with established health guidelines.
"We do not comment on matters related to submarine operations.”
