Randy Moss almost missed his ESPN appearance after a hilarious flight mix-up

ESPN is headquartered in Bristol, Conn., which has never been a super convenient location for traveling talent. They have to fly into Bradley International Airport outside Hartford and then take on the 34-mile drive to the ESPN offices.

You can’t fly directly into Bristol, Conn., but nobody relayed that information to the pilot of Randy Moss’ plane this weekend. They ended up in Bristol, Tennessee.

At the start of ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, host Sam Ponder waited no time to welcome Moss specifically to the show. He had to share exactly what was so funny, and it turned out that the Hall of Fame receiver had quite the travel experience.

Moss took a later flight so he could catch his son’s game, and he dozed off after the pilot told him the flight time. Upon landing, Moss was all confused as he looked for the Sheraton hotel that is attached to Bradley International Airport. It was nowhere to be found because, well, they ended up at Tri-Cities Airport in Tennessee.

Just an honest mistake by, uh, 703 miles.

Thankfully, they worked out the appropriate flight details and got Moss to the right Bristol in time for Sunday’s broadcast.
