Randers FC await winner of St Johnstone and Galatasaray in play-off round

St Johnstone have found out their potential Europa League play-off round opponents.

If the Perth club can advance beyond Turkish giants Galatasaray, next up would be a trip to Denmark.

Current Danish Superliga leaders Randers FC would provide the opposition.

The play-off round games are scheduled for Thursday, August 19 and Thursday, August 26.

It will, obviously, be an almighty challenge to navigate beyond Galatasaray in the third qualifying round but writing Saints off is never a sensible idea.

Callum Davidson’s cup double winners head for Turkey on Wednesday ahead of the first leg on Thursday evening.

Saints’ squad list for that game was revealed on Monday morning and there was no spot for Finnish striker Eetu Vertainen, whose signing is still to be confirmed.

Perth boss Davidson said on Saturday that the club was “working hard behind the scenes” to get it over the line.

The squad for Galatasaray is as follows: Goalkeepers - Zander Clark, Elliott Parish, Ross Sinclair. Defenders - James Brown, Reece Devine, Jamie McCart, Jason Kerr, Liam Gordon, Hayden Muller, Shaun Rooney, Callum Booth, Sam Denham. Midfielders - Murray Davidson, David Wotherspoon, Craig Bryson, Charlie Gilmour, Ali McCann, Cammy Ballantyne, Liam Craig. Forwards - Stevie May, Chris Kane, Michael O’Halloran, Callum Hendry, Jordan Northcott.
