Randall Cobb confirms trade from Texans to Packers

The Texans have evidently traded wide receiver Randall Cobb to the Green Bay Packers after recent reports indicated that Houston was working with Cobb’s former team to formulate a deal for him.

The official source on the trade is Cobb himself.

Cobb sent this message out via his social media account on Twitter on Wednesday:

Cobb, a second-round pick of the Packers in 2011, spent his first eight seasons in Green Bay. Cobb played one season with the Dallas Cowboys and one season with the Texans after leaving the Packers following the 2018 season.

In his lone year in Houston in 2020, Cobb had 38 catches for 441 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games played.

As of now, the Texans and Packers have yet to announce the trade. Because of that, the compensation heading to Houston for Cobb has not been revealed.

In addition, the Packers will likely be working to restructure the 30-year-old’s contract so the team can fit him under their salary cap, per Packers Wire.
