Ranchi: Police yet to file FIR: Family of deceased minor

RANCHI: The family of the 15-year-old boy who was killed in June 10’s violence in Ranchi claimed that the police accepted their application, but are yet to register an FIR in connection to the death.

After being shot in the head on Friday, Mudassir was rushed to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) where he was declared brought dead.

Mudassir’s uncle Shahid Ayyubi and father Pervez Alam claimed that the police have not filed an FIR against the accused. “Daily Market PS accepted our application on Sunday, but we never received an FIR number,” Ayyubi said.

When contacted, Ranchi SSP Surindra Kumar Jha said, “I cannot talk to you now, will call you back.”

Ranchi DSP Prakash Soy said that he has no information about the non-registration of FIR. "The station in-charge is responsible for FIR registration," he said.

Officer in-charge, Daily Market PS, Alok Singh also refused to comment on the issue and disconnected the call.
