Ranchi: Over 63 thousand job cards issued in two years, says government

RANCHI: The Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana launched to help the unskilled workers in urban pockets during Covid–19 has yielded favourable results. The scheme was launched on August 14, 2020 to benefit the poor labourers residing in 50 municipal bodies of the state.

“A total of 63,493 job cards in 50 municipal bodies were issued in the last two and half years,” said an official communiqué by state IPRD department. “As many as 12,66,744 man-days have been allotted within this period of the last two years. A maximum of 100 working days have been assigned to the job card,” he added.

Under the scheme, the urban unskilled labourer whose age is above 18 years will get a free job card. He will get guaranteed employment for a maximum of 100 days in a fiscal year and employment within 15 days of a job seeker's request.
