Ramsey, Sokratis, Xhaka - Latest Arsenal injury news & return dates ahead of Watford game

Arsenal have the chance to move back into the top four this evening as they travel to Watford in the Premier League.

A terrific run of form in recent weeks has seen the Gunners climb into the Champions League places but they dropped out last Monday following Chelsea's 2-0 win over West Ham and their loss at Everton.

However, a defeat at Liverpool for Maurizio Sarri's side on Sunday has opened the door for Arsenal to move ahead of them once again.

It certainly won't be an easy game at Watford as the club have endured some awful results on the road so far this season.

Troy Deeney was a key figure in the league defeat at Vicarage Road last campaign and Arsenal will be without Sokratis for the game through suspension.

The Greek international picked up his 10th booking of the term at Everton eight days ago and will now miss the games against the Hornets and Crystal Palace.

Unai Emery is expected to shake things up this evening with his side travelling to Naples later in the week for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash against Napoli.

Granit Xhaka is one player who could return to the starting XI having not played since the international break due to a groin injury.

The Swiss midfielder is being assessed ahead of the game and Emery will be hoping he can call on his key player once again.

That may give the head coach the opportunity to drop Aaron Ramsey down to the substitutes' bench with the 28-year-old battling with thigh issues recently.

Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck remain out for the foreseeable future as they are currently stepping up their fitness from the long-term injuries they suffered earlier in the campaign.
