Rams will have a chip on their shoulders in 2019: ‘Nobody’s satisfied’

After winning 13 games and making it all the way to the Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams should be extremely proud of what they accomplished in 2018. However, with such high expectations and after going all-in with a bevy of blockbuster moves, it’s easy to understand why they’re not satisfied.

They came so close to winning it all, losing by just 10 points to the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. That loss left a sour taste in their mouths and gave them added motivation – a chip on their shoulders, even.

“Biggest thing that I can take away from it is that we’re going to get better. You know? Nobody’s satisfied with where we ended up,” Samson Ebukam said. “So yeah, we’re just going to have a little chip on our shoulders just to get better next year.”

With the talent they have and the coaches guiding the players, the Rams shouldn’t need any added motivation heading into 2019. They got so close to being the last team standing, and after nearly winning a Lombardi Trophy, they want to come back better next season.

Ebukam said there were plenty of doubters after the Rams lost two games in a row to the Bears and Eagles, but they proved those people wrong by continuing to win.

“[N]ot many people thought we were going to go to the Super Bowl anyway after the second loss that we took,” Ebukam said. “And, yeah, we kind of just kept grinding, kept doing what we’d been doing all season, got to the Super Bowl. So that in itself is a blessing, so can’t be mad at that.”

Assuming the core of the team returns in 2019, the Rams should be back in the mix for a championship, at the very least making the playoffs. But after reaching the Super Bowl, they want to win it next time.
