Rams were Jachai Polite’s favorite meeting ‘because they didn’t bash me’

The Los Angeles Rams are sure to take a close look at pass rushers in this year’s draft, potentially needing to replace Dante Fowler Jr. One player who they’d probably love to take in the first round is Florida’s Jachai Polite.

He’s widely regarded as one of the top pass rushers in the class and while it’s unlikely he falls to No. 31, crazier things have happened. The Rams have shown at least a little bit of interest in Polite, meeting with him at the NFL combine this week.

Granted, teams typically meet with all the players they can, but there’s a clear connection between the Rams and Polite with Los Angeles needing pass-rush help. The former Gator said the Rams were his favorite meeting because they didn’t bash his game the way other teams did.

It’s perfectly normal for teams to grill prospects on bad plays and get a feel for their character, but Polite seemed somewhat surprised by this. According to Polite, the Rams focused on the football aspect of his game, which he appreciated.

He also enjoyed his time with Sean McVay. As the youngest head coach in the league and someone who’s beloved by players everywhere, it’s easy to see why Polite would have liked meeting with McVay.

He said he doesn’t know how old McVay is, but joked he could be someone’s cool uncle.
