Rams Week 7 snap counts: Van Jefferson’s role grows with Johnny Mundt out

The Rams’ tight end group suffered a considerable loss when Johnny Mundt went down for the year with a torn ACL, leaving Tyler Higbee as the only reliable player at that position. Jacob Harris, Brycen Hopkins and Kendall Blanton weren’t ready for bigger roles as the No. 2 tight end, so Sean McVay went back to his roots.

Against the Lions, the Rams relied heavily on their 11 personnel grouping, which has three receivers, one tight end and one running back on the field. There were only a couple of snaps with two tight ends out there together, leading to an uptick in playing time for Van Jefferson.

Below is an analysis of the Rams’ snap counts from Week 7, both on offense and defense.
