Rams Week 7 inactives: Young, Corbett not making debuts for LA

To start the week of practice, it was unclear whether Todd Gurley and Jalen Ramsey would play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Gurley made good progress from his thigh contusion and Ramsey is over his back injury, and both players will be suiting up at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Neither player was on the Rams’ list of inactives, but Malcolm Brown was. He entered the weekend doubtful to play, and he won’t be active due to an ankle injury. Darrell Henderson will be Gurley’s backup, while John Kelly will be the third-string back.

Kenny Young and Austin Corbett, who the Rams acquired last week in trades, are both inactive. The team clearly doesn’t feel comfortable with either player’s understanding of the playbook so far, which is reasonable considering they only had three days of practice.

Here’s the full list of inactives for the Rams in Week 7.

The biggest surprise on this list of inactives is that Bryce Hager won’t be suiting up. He’s a key special teams player and was a starter at inside linebacker before injuring his shoulder, but he’s fully healthy now. Troy Reeder has grabbed hold of the starting job, which is somewhat unexpected.

Rookie cornerback David Long is active for the first time this season, as is offensive lineman Bobby Evans. Evans appears to have moved ahead of Jamil Demby on the depth chart at guard.
