Rams Week 4 injury report: Gurley gets rest day, everyone good to go

The Los Angeles Rams played the Browns in Week 3 without two key starters in Tyler Higbee and Austin Blythe. Gerald Everett and Jamil Demby did a nice job filling in, but the Rams did miss their starters at tight end and right guard.

Fortunately, they’ll have both players back on Sunday against the Buccaneers. Higbee and Blythe were full participants in Friday’s practice and don’t carry any injury designations heading into Week 4. The same goes for Michael Brockers, who was sick.

Todd Gurley also got a day off Friday, while Aqib Talib rested on Wednesday and Andrew Whitworth Thursday.

Sean McVay said after practice that everyone is healthy heading into Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay.

“Everybody’s going to be good. Everybody’s cleared to play, we’re healthy, we’re in good shape. Looking forward to seeing our full arsenal on Sunday,” he said.

As for Higbee’s injury, which landed him in the hospital, McVay made it clear that the tight end is fully cleared to play. McVay has never seen an injury like that before, though, so it was new territory.

“I haven’t. That’s the first time I’ve experienced anything like that. We wouldn’t put him out there and we wouldn’t clear him if we didn’t feel like he was fully ready to go. I know he feels good and that’s the most important thing,” McVay said.
