Rams trade CB Marcus Peters to Ravens for LB Kenny Young and draft pick

The Los Angeles Rams have traded cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens for linebacker Kenny Young and an undisclosed draft pick in 2020. Rob Parker of Fox Sports first reported the news.

According to Adam Schefter, the draft pick heading to Los Angeles will be a fifth-rounder in 2020.

This move comes as a huge surprise, especially given the fact that Aqib Talib was placed on injured reserve a day ago. This leaves the Rams without their two starting cornerbacks, which makes it a risky decision for the front office to make.

Peters was much-improved over his disappointing 2018 season, ranking as the No. 7 cornerback in the NFL entering Week 6, according to Pro Football Focus. He was in the final year of his contract, and the Rams didn’t seem very interested in re-signing him.

This season, Peters has two interceptions (one pick-six) and four passes defensed to go along with 14 tackles.
