Rams’ third-quarter stat line is as ugly as it gets

For as badly as the Los Angeles Rams have struggled in the first quarter this season, they were far worse in the third quarter on Sunday against the 49ers. It was a disastrous 15 minutes for Sean McVay’s squad, falling behind 17-7 due to horrendous play on offense.

In the third quarter, the Rams had minus-29 yards net yards, a lost fumble and two three-and-outs. That includes a sack allowed by Brian Allen and a botched pitch by Darrell Henderson.

The Rams could do nothing on offense coming out of the half, losing a fumble on the first play from scrimmage. It was all downhill from there, struggling to move the football with any semblance of rhythm or consistency.
