Rams sign Cooper Kupp’s younger brother Ketner

The Los Angeles Rams have added another Kupp to the roster. On Wednesday, the team announced it has signed linebacker Ketner Kupp, who’s the younger brother of Cooper. To make room for him on the roster, they waived rookie wide receiver Justin Sumpter.

Ketner was among the players who tried out for the 49ers after the draft but he was unable to earn a contract in San Francisco. It may have been a blessing in disguise, though, because now he gets to play for the same team as his brother.

Like Cooper, Ketner attended Eastern Washington. He played linebacker for the Eagles despite being somewhat undersized for the position. He’s just 6-feet tall and weighs 225 pounds, which is obviously small by the NFL’s standards.

In college, he made 152 career tackles and 2.5 sacks in 33 games. He was also a co-captain last season.
