No player on the roster has spent more time with the Rams than Rodger Saffold did. He was drafted in the second round in 2010 and spent the last nine years with the organization, playing four different positions on the offensive line.
This week, he signed a four-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, leaving the Rams in free agency. It was a difficult decision for both sides, but Los Angeles simply didn’t have the cap space to make it work.
Saffold returned to the team’s headquarters before signing with the Titans to say goodbye to his teammates and coaches, which was a move indicative of the person he is. The Rams bid farewell to Saffold on social media Thursday, sharing a video on Twitter.
Saffold responded by thanking fans for their support throughout the last nine years.
John Johnson shared the tweet with a sad emoji, while Andrew Whitworth retweeted the Rams’ video.
Jared Goff also retweeted this post thanking Saffold.
Todd Gurley thanked Saffold, who blocked for him the last four seasons.
