Rams select RB Zach Evans after trading up 37 spots to No. 215

After trading down three times in the draft, the Rams finally made a move up the board. They traded No. 252 and a sixth-round pick in 2024 to the Bills for Pick 215, where they selected Ole Miss running back Zach Evans.

This late in the draft, Evans is a good value. He had a fourth-round grade from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, who says Evans has “future RB1 upside.” Last season at Ole Miss, he rushed for 936 yards and scored nine touchdowns, adding 12 receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown catch, as well.

He was compared to Melvin Gordon by Zierlein, displaying breakaway speed at 5-foot-11 and 202 pounds – good size for a running back. Evans began his career at TCU before transferring to Ole Miss in 2022, though he did miss time with a hip injury and concussion last season.

Cam Akers is penciled in as the starting running back right now but the Rams love to add competition and versatility to the backfield, which is what Evans does here.
