Rams rule out Terrell Lewis for Week 1, could be sidelined longer

Terrell Lewis missed the final week of practice for the Rams with a knee injury, but Los Angeles still doesn’t know the severity of it. At the very least, he’s going to miss the first game of the season.

Sean McVay announced on Saturday that Lewis has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Cowboys. He also told reporters that he plans to have an update on Lewis’ condition on Wednesday when he has more clarity on the situation.

Clearly, this is bad news for the Rams – not only because they’ll be without the promising pass rusher in Week 1, but also because of the sheer unknown with Lewis’ condition. He was limited to only 14 games at Alabama due to a torn ACL and a torn ligament in his elbow, causing his draft stock to slide.

He’s not off to a great start in the NFL, either, already missing the first game of his career. The Rams can only hope this isn’t a long-term issue, and that he’ll be back on the field sooner rather than later.
