It seemed like the Los Angeles Rams were in danger of losing yet another coach in Aubrey Pleasant after he interviewed with the Cincinnati Bengals for their vacant defensive coordinator job, but Zac Taylor is going in a different direction.
The Bengals announced they have hired Lou Anarumo as their defensive coordinator. He served as the Giants’ defensive backs coach in 2018.
This is great news for the Rams as they avoid having to replace another member of their coaching staff. They’ve lost several assistants in the past few years, including Taylor, Matt LaFleur and Greg Olson.
When Aqib Talib was healthy, the Rams secondary played extremely well, particularly at cornerback. Marcus Peters stepped up his game late in the season, Talib locked down the left side of the defense and Nickell Robey-Coleman proved to be one of the game’s top slot corners.
