Rams RB Todd Gurley misses practice with injury

Former Georgia football and current Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is coming off of his best game of the 2019 NFL season in a 30-29 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.  In that game he put up 51 yard and 2 TDs on 15 carries, but his performance came with a set back.

Gurley missed practice this past Wednesday with a quadricep injury that he suffered in the Seattle game.  This is the first Gurley injury listed by the team for the season, although there has been an overbearing narrative of his knee not being 100%.

Malcolm Brown is expected to get the majority of the running back reps in the Rams’ Sunday attempt to avoid going 3-3.  Brown is averaging 4.4 yards per carry and had 2 rushing TDs in the Rams’ Week 1 victory against the Carolina Panthers.

The Rams started the season 3-0 but have dropped the past two games and face the hottest team in the NFL this week, the 4-0 San Francisco 49ers.  This will be a true test of the Rams to see whether they are on the decline or still stand atop the NFC West.  This game is huge due to the fact that there is a tight three team race for the division and the Rams can’t afford to drop two divisional games in a row.
