Rams RB Cam Akers was mic’d up vs. Seahawks: ‘This is easy’

Rams rookie Cam Akers made his postseason debut on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks, helping lead Los Angeles to a 30-20 win in the wild-card round. He rushed for 131 yards on 28 carries, and also added 45 yards receiving on two receptions.

The Seahawks aren’t exactly a bad defense, either, but Akers didn’t find it tough sledding at Lumen Field. He was having quite the day and he let the Seahawks know it.

Akers was mic’d up during the game and at one point, he could be heard telling the Seahawks, “He had help. Y’all ain’t tackle me one-on-one all day.”

Then after he scored his 5-yard touchdown, he said repeatedly, “This is easy. This is easy. I’m telling you, it’s easy.”

Akers told reporters on Wednesday that “it starts up front with our offensive line,” crediting the big men for paving the way against Seattle. He’s not wrong, either, but he also did a tremendous job creating on his own, too.

Of his 131 yards rushing, 97 came after contact, so he was breaking tackles and eluding defenders all afternoon long.

As easy as it was for Akers against the Seahawks, it’s even easier to see why the Rams liked him so much coming out of Florida State.
