Rams open as 1.5-point underdogs vs. Seahawks in Week 5

The Los Angeles Rams began the 2019 season favored in all of their first four games. That will change this week with the Rams visiting the Seahawks in a quick turnaround on Thursday night.

According to BetMGM, the Seahawks opened as 1.5-point home favorites over the Rams in Week 5. It’s the first time all season that the Rams have been underdogs and the first time since Sean McVay took over in 2017 that they aren’t at least tied for the lead in the NFC West.

Los Angeles is coming off a surprising 55-40 loss to the Buccaneers in Week 4, dropping its record to 3-1 – tied for second in the division with the Seahawks. Seattle, on the other hand, just beat the Cardinals on Sunday and looks like a playoff contender again.

The Rams need a bounce-back win in the worst way this week, as a loss would put them one game behind the Seahawks and potentially 1.5 back of the division-leading 49ers. It’ll be difficult on a short week, but all things considered, the Rams are relatively healthy, which helps a lot with the quick turnaround.

The over/under of 48.5 points is currently the second-highest of Week 5, with only the Colts-Chiefs matchup (57.5) holding a higher total points line.
