Rams OLB Terrell Lewis has a knee injury, severity not yet clear

One day after Sean McVay revealed that Travin Howard will miss the entire season with a knee injury, he shared some more bad news. On Wednesday, McVay told reporters before practice that rookie Terrell Lewis has a knee injury, which caused him to sit out practice Tuesday.

The severity is not yet known as the Rams are working through tests on the rookie’s knee, but it’s obviously not good news for a player who couldn’t stay healthy at Alabama. McVay doesn’t know exactly what the injury is or whether it’ll keep Lewis out of action moving forward, but it’s a troubling development for the Rams.

Lewis was limited to only 14 games in college, missing the entire 2018 season after playing just four games in 2017. His injuries ranged from a torn ACL in 2018 to a torn ligament in his elbow the year before.

He finally bounced back and stayed healthy in 2019, but durability was Lewis’ biggest problem in college. Hopefully that won’t continue to be the case in the NFL, but he’s not off to a good start.
